In Scratching the Surface, we are met with an oceanic expanse—a canvas that flows with layered shades of deep, inky blue, stretching from midnight to stormy teal. 

The brushstrokes appear almost rubbed and blurred in places, while in others, they are stark and abrupt, as if pausing to etch out a message just beneath the surface. The dark tones and minimalistic palette reinforce an almost meditative mood, as if inviting us to pause and contemplate what we choose to reveal and what we keep submerged.
